Holy Ground. Holy Place in You.
John 8:34-38
“…there is no place in you for my word.”
Christ, you are a mouthful. You, your word, your life, your purpose, your freedom, your forgiveness, your grace. The only way to make a place in us for your word is to purge what is sickening us. To empty ourselves of our hatreds. To fast from the muscle memory of our greed. To make room in our guts. To make ourselves hospitable for you and the strangers you bring with you. It’s a mouthful, Lord. Crumb by crumb, we take you in. Crumb by crumb, we are changed from the inside out. Amen.
