“And the darkness did not overcome it…”
Word,
Yet another name you have God. And the Word was God.
Our urban dictionary says ‘Word’ means ‘well-said, agreement, the truth.” Like we are saying, “It’s cold!” and someone responds, “Word!”
On this another Christmas Day, there is the word of death, of bombs dropping on innocents, of cold bus loads of people used as weapons in a war of empty words.
On this Christmas Day, there is darkness. Truth.
On this Christmas Day there is light shining that the darkness cannot overcome.
The Word become flesh is full of grace and truth.
The Word become flesh is you and you in us.
Word.
Amen
To the Readers of Barefoot Crossing. Thank you for participating in this journey of conversation with the Word and the truth of our troubled times. Thank you for all the times you stare at real darkness in your life without denying the weight of it and at the same moment find a way to shine from the inside out. Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel. Barefoot Crossing will continue....hopefully with warmer toes. Merry Christmas.
